Despite longer-term concerns about world feedgrain tightness, corn prices have been on the defensive the last few weeks due to benign growing conditions and moderating U.S. export activity. After heavy rains disrupted the final stages of U.S. planting, the June 30 USDA acreage and quarterly grain stocks reports will help clarify corn's 2004/05 production prospects and the current level of domestic demand for this feedgrain.
