CBOT: Treasuries Demand Surges, Flies In Face Of Treasury Announcement

CBOT® Treasury bond futures and options average daily volume in the two weeks after the Treasury announcement it was suspending issuance of the 30-year bond increased by an impressive 27%. Similarly, open interest in these contracts grew substantially--by 13%--after the announcement.
