CBOT® To Reopen Open Outcry and Electronic Trading Systems on Thursday, September 13 - Will Have a Minute of Silence For Victims Of Tragic Events

After closing its markets on Wednesday, September 12, out of respect for the victims of the tragic events in New York City and Washington, D.C., the Chicago Board of Trade announced today that it will reopen its open outcry and electronic trading systems on Thursday, September 13. All times are Chicago times.

All CBOT® open outcry contracts, except for stock indices, will open at normal times and trade a full day on Thursday, September 13:

• Financial products, 7:20 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Silver futures and options, 7:25 a.m. to 1:25 p.m.
• Gold futures, 7:20 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.
• Agricultural products, 9:30 a.m. to 1:15.p.m.

There is a mandatory trade checking session for all financials and equity indices at 6:00 a.m.

The MidAmerica Commodity Exchange open outcry markets will open for trading at normal times, subject to the schedules of applicable primary markets.

The CBOT®'s electronic trading system, a/c/e, will resume trading on Thursday, September 13, as follows:

• Financial products, 7:20 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There will be no daytime trading of CBOT® agricultural or stock index contracts on the a/c/e system on Thursday, September 13. Orders can be entered for all products on the a/c/e system starting at 6:00 a.m. on September 13 (pre-trading). Pre-opening for a/c/e will commence at 6:30 a.m.

a/c/e will resume its normal schedule of trading (except for stock indices) at 8:00 p.m., Chicago time, on Thursday, September 13, as follows:

• Financial products, 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Agricultural products, 8:30 p.m, to 6:00 a.m.

A decision to reopen the CBOT®'s equity markets will be made in coordination with other financial markets, in addition to U.S. regulatory authorities, and will be announced at that time.

In addition, the CBOT® and MidAm will hold a minute of silence on its trading floors at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, in honor of the victims of Tuesday's tragic events.
