Through the a/c/e access point in Hong Kong, CBOT® member firms and their affiliate companies may now secure direct electronic access to CBOT® products. Also, CBOT® can facilitate the connection of member firms operating in Hong Kong and in other locations around the world including, Japan, Europe, and the U.S, to the a/c/e platform via communications networks and hub access points.
CBOT® Chairman Nickolas J. Neubauer said, "Hong Kong has always had a strong presence in the financial community and the CBOT®, home of the most liquid, diverse, and well-regulated marketplace, is pleased to make this financial focal point a very important trading business center. By having a/c/e terminals in Hong Kong, in addition to the already existing locations in Japan, Europe, and the U.S., we are providing our worldwide customers the increased access they want to our markets."
Moreover, the SFC has imposed no restrictions on either the types of trades that may be carried out, or on the types of CBOT® contracts that may be traded via the a/c/e platform, provided that the trades comply with the rules of the CBOT® and that the CBOT® complies with various reporting and information provision requirements.
