CBOT Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Bryan T. Durkin said, “The landmark hosting agreements with the KCBT, MGEX and WCE provides standardization to the industry, as customers now will have one point of access to the leading North American exchanges’ futures and options products. Moreover, a single operating system facilitating access to these products, which complement CBOT commodity contracts, provides the marketplace with greater efficiency, lower costs and increased trading opportunities. In addition I applaud the dedication and hard work of all the exchanges’ staff involved to ensure this seamless transition.”
Under the signed hosting agreements, KCBT, MGEX and WCE products trade on the CBOT’s premier electronic trading platform, powered by LIFFE CONNECT. Each exchange will remain independent and maintain separate open and close times.
Additionally, the CBOT is now the sole distributor of market data for all three exchanges via the CBOT Quote Vendor Network. Trading data, such as last trade, best bid/ask, as well as market depth (the bids and offers waiting to be filled), and other key information will be available via the CBOT's network.
