CBOT Statement Regarding A News Release Distributed By Eurex

In response to today's press release issued by Eurex, CBOT® President and CEO Bernard Dan issued the following statement:

"We have not yet been served with the copy of the complaint. However, from our reading of the press release issued by Eurex which summarizes the lawsuit, we do not believe Eurex US's lawsuit against the CBOT and CME® has any merit. The Chicago Board of Trade is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and orderly transfer of responsibility for clearing services from BOTCC to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange® in connection with the CBOT/CME Clearing Link. We are intently focused on minimizing any disruption of operations for our clearing members in connection with this transition. This lawsuit is an attempt by Eurex to deflect attention from the shortcomings of its own U.S. application. We believe their efforts will fail."
