CBOT Soybean Oil Futures Contract Sets A Volume Record On Exchange Electronic Trading Platform

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) yesterday announced that its members set a new daily volume record for soybean oil futures on the exchange's electronic trading platform with 1,696 contracts traded on September 16, breaking the previous record of 871 contracts set on August 19, 2002. With the inclusion of the open auction market, a total of 28,459 soybean oil futures contracts were traded on September 16.

Year-to-date, 19,960 soybean oil futures contracts have traded on the CBOT's electronic trading platform.

In addition to being traded in the open auction market Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., the exchange's agricultural products also are traded on the CBOT's electronic trading platform Sunday through Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. For more information on the CBOT® products and markets, visit the exchange website at www.cbot.com.
