CBOT Sets New Daily Volume Record In Wheat Futures
Date 01/07/1999
The Chicago Board of Trade announced on June 30 that its members traded more wheat futures contracts on Tuesday, June 29, than during any day in the exchange's 151-year history.
CBOT members traded 66,228 wheat futures contracts Tuesday, breaking the former record of 56,420 contracts set on February 25, 1999.
The new daily volume record is an indication of the agricultural community's continued confidence in the CBOT's premier agricultural markets, and their recognition of the CBOT's ability to provide the most liquid markets for risk management and price discovery.
