CBOT President Vitale To Be Featured Speaker At June 7 FIA Program

Chicago Board of Trade President/CEO David J. Vitale will be the featured speaker at the Futures Industry Association Chicago Division luncheon program, Thursday, June 7, 2001.

As the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the CBOT®, Vitale will describe his strategic plans for the Exchange as well as his perspectives on the increasingly competitive landscape of the futures industry.

Separately, Vitale spoke to business and civic leaders and nearly 300 delegates attending the May 9 plenary session of the May 9-11 LaSalle Street Project Economic Summit 2001. He stressed the importance of Chicago's exchange leaders setting the example for the city's futures industry by actively providing opportunities for minorities and women.

The panel, "New Economy, New Leadership," also included Rev. Jesse Jackson, Founder, President and CEO of Rainbow/PUSH Coalition; John Rogers, Chairman and CEO of Ariel Capital Management, Inc.; and Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of Bank One Corporation. These community leaders candidly discussed the need for corporate leadership to tap the potential of underserved communities, emerging businesses, minorities and female talent.
