The first phase of new CBOT® mini-sized futures contracts will launch on Sunday, September 30, 2001. The mini-sized contracts offer smaller-sized versions of some of the most actively traded futures products in the world, compromising a market that includes fixed income, equity, agricultural, and precious metal contracts. They will trade exclusively on a/c/e, the CBOT®'s electronic platform.
The new mini-sized contracts offer:
- Easy access to a variety of markets
- Better risk management and investment fit for smaller market participants
- Lower margin rates
- Longer trading hours with the same a/c/e trading hours as their CBOT® counterparts
- Limited level of risk exposure-smaller size contracts mean lower exposure
