CBOT Members Set New a/c/e High, Trading Hits 269,975 Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade announced February 28 that its members set a new daily volume record February 27 at 269,975 contracts traded on the a/c/e electronic trading platform, jointly developed by CBOT® and Eurex. The record day's volume shattered the former peak of 199,598 contracts set on February 22, 2001, while establishing new records in the 30-Year T-Bond, and the 10-Year, and 5-Year Note futures contracts.

Yesterday’s record day brought a/c/e volume since inception on August 27, 2000, to a total of 14,262,954 contracts, with the CBOT® 30-Year Treasury bond reaching a daily volume record of 122,588 contracts, surpassing the former record of 97,134 set on February 22, 2001. The 10-Year and the 5-Year Notes, respectively, also set new daily volume records yesterday of 111,029 contracts, topping the former record of 85,525 set on November 8, 2000, and 33,635 contracts, exceeding the former record of 30,418 set on February 21, 2001.
