The joint course covers topics such as macroeconomics, money and banking, security valuation, efficient market hypothesis, capital asset pricing model (CAPM), the pricing of various financial instruments, and the interrelationships between the various underlying and derivatives markets.

The noncredit Professional Development course, entitled "Economics of Trading," will be taught at the Loop location of the School of Continuing Studies, the continuing education arm of Northwestern University with programs designed specifically for working adults.

The course begins on October 18 and runs for six weeks through November. Classes will take place on Monday and Thursday, after market hours, for two hours per day for a total of 24 hours of instruction. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from Northwestern University's School of Continuing Studies.
