CBOT Agricultural Volume Sets New Record On Project A

The Chicago Board of Trade announced today that during its Monday, July 5, overnight Project A session, its members traded more agricultural contracts than during any session in Project A history.
CBOT members traded 11,781 agricultural contracts Monday evening, breaking the former record of 7,616 contracts set on June 21, 1999.
The new Project A volume record is an indication of the CBOT markets' ability to meet the needs of its customers by providing the best products for risk management and the most liquid markets in the world. For agricultural products, Project A trading hours are 9:00 p.m. &endash; 4:30 a.m.
Additionally, the CBOT corn contracts set a new Project A session record at 6,334 contracts, breaking the former record of 4,595 set on August 13, 1997. The CBOT soybean contracts also set a new Project A session record of 4,164 contracts, surpassing the former record of 2,890 set on June 21, 1999.
