CBOT 10- And 2-Year Treasury Note Futures Open Interest Surge to New Records

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that open interest in its Ten-Year and Two-Year Treasury Note futures contracts rose to new records during trading on Wednesday, February 9, 2005.

Open interest in CBOT Ten-Year Treasury Note futures increased to an all-time high of 1,845,273 contracts, eclipsing the previous record of 1,832,344 contracts set on November 29, 2004.

Open interest in CBOT Two-Year Treasury Note futures surged to a new record of 338,977 contracts, surpassing the previous high of 329,026 contracts set on February 8, 2005.

In addition, continuing its steady rise in open interest this year, CBOT Wheat futures set an open interest record, reaching 222,498 contracts on February 9. Open interest broke the previous record of 222,293 contracts set on February 1.
