CBOE's New Mini Index Off To Impressive Start

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that trading of the new CBOE Mini-NDX index (CBOE ticker symbol MNXSM) debuted successfully today. Trading in the new index product totaled 27,417 contracts, making MNX one of the most-active options at CBOE today. Officials at CBOE are extremely pleased with the opening day success of MNX, which is a 1/10th size version of the existing Nasdaq-100 Index® options (NDX) at CBOE. Added Jim Harkness from Wolverine Trading, L.P. the Designated Primary Market Maker (DPM) in the MNX index options: "We were extremely pleased by the strong volume on the first day of trading in MNX. This product is the 'right-size' product for today's investors. We expect continued growth in volume."
