The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that annual trading volume at CBOE has already reached a new all-time high at the Exchange. On Wednesday, November 24, total volume for this year reached 327,263,022 contracts, surpassing the previous CBOE annual volume record of 326,359,531 contracts traded in 2000.

Additionally, through the end of October, CBOE's year-to-date volume of 295,664,928 contracts was up 27% over last year and, in less than ten months, exceeded 2003's total trading volume of 283,946,495 contracts.

"CBOE continues to expand its business by investing in innovation -- particularly in the areas of products, technologies, and education -- and we are experiencing the positive results of these efforts," commented CBOE Chairman and CEO William J. Brodsky. "For the second consecutive year, CBOE's annual trading volume will post significant gains over the previous year, and with 24 trading days left in 2004, this year's volume is going to shatter the previous all-time record at CBOE."
