CBOE Trading Volume In Ishares sm S&P 100® Index Fund Sets New High

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that volume in the iShares sm S&P 100® Index Fund (CBOE symbol OEF) on Thursday, March 22, was 174,600 shares.

Yesterday's total established a new single-day iShares volume record, surpassing the previous high of 101,000 shares traded on December 19, 2000.

The iShares S&P 100 Index Fund is an exchange-traded fund that seeks the investment results which correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P 100® Index. iShares S&P 100 Index Fund trades like an individual stock, but offers the investment diversification of an index. Like a stock, OEF shares can be bought and sold intra-day or held over the long term.

The iShares S&P 100 Index Fund, which is traded exclusively at CBOE, was launched on October 27, 2000. Wolverine Trading, L.P. is the Designated Primary Market Maker (DPM) in the iShares.
