The newly created CBOE China Index, (ticker symbol CYX) is a broad-based, equal-dollar weighted index initially composed of sixteen component securities, all of which are either American Depository Receipts (ADRs), New York Registered Shares (NYSs) or NYSE Global Shares (NGSs) traded on the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq or the American Stock Exchange.
Currently, the sixteen companies included in the Index are:Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. (ACH), China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (LFC), China Telecom Corp. Ltd. (CHA), Chinadotcom Corp. (CHINA), China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd. (CHL), China Unicom Ltd. (CHU), CNOOC Ltd. (CEO), China Yuchai International Ltd. (CYD), Nam Tai Electronics, Inc. (NTE), Netease.com, Inc. (NTES), PetroChina Co. Ltd. (PTR), Sina Corporation (SINA), Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMI), China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (SNP), Sohu.com Inc. (SOHU), and UTStarcom Inc. (UTSI).The Index will be re-balanced quarterly.
CYX options will trade on the March expiration cycle with initial expirations in November, December, January and March.Strike prices will bracket the Index with initial strike prices ranging from 240 to 320, in five-point increments.Position limits have been set at 31,500 contracts on either side of the market.Trading hours for the options are 8:30 a.m. to 3:02 p.m.
Futures on the CBOE China Index (futures ticker symbol CX), began trading on the CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) on October 18th.LaBranche Structured Products, LLC, a subsidiary of LaBranche & Co Inc. is the DPM for CBOE China Index futures.Trading hours for the futures are 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Central Time.
