CBOE Sets Single-Day Volume Record On Friday, January 19th

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that 2,501,747 contracts (an estimated 1,573,520 calls and 765,478 puts) traded on Friday, January 19, 2001 establishing a new record for single-day total volume at the exchange.

This marks the first time that single-day total volume has surpassed 2 ½ million contracts traded at CBOE.

Friday's total volume eclipsed the previous single-day total volume record of 2,391,788 contracts traded on April 14, 2000.
