The Chicago Board Options Exchange® (CBOE®) announced that the exchange received two honors – “Best Options Trading Venue” and “Best Mobile Application” – at the fourth annual Wall Street Letter (WSL) Institutional Trading Awards last night in New York City.
The WSL’s Institutional Trading Awards recognize “excellence among providers to the institutional trading industry specifically rewarding brokerage firms, exchanges and financial technology companies for achievements and innovation.”
CBOE received the “Best Mobile Application” award in recognition of “CBOE Mobile,” a state-of-the-art options education application for iPhone and iPad users launched in November. The new CBOE Mobile app features a variety of basic to advanced educational courses specifically developed for mobile application by The Options Institute, CBOE’s world-renowned educational arm. CBOE’s latest educational tool includes 75 interactive lesson modules that encourage self-directed learning at a comfortable learning pace. Additional features include trading tools and market data (including detailed price quotes, charts and options chains), accessibility to CBOE’s social media channels, and streaming video from CBOE TV. CBOE plans to regularly add more courses and lessons, including topics on CBOE volatility products, to the mobile app.
CBOE Mobile is available free of charge through the iTunes App Store at https://itunes.apple.com/app/cboe-mobile/id408732793?mt=8 and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
The “Best Options Trading Venue” award recognized CBOE’s continued commitment to product and technology innovation and cited the high marks the exchange received for customer satisfaction.
As a leader in options and volatility product innovation, trading technology and investor education, CBOE has consistently received industry awards over the past decade, totaling nearly three dozen in areas such as leadership and new product and technology development. At last year’s WSL Institutional Trading Awards ceremony, CBOE was recognized with two honors: “Most Innovative Exchange Technology – Options” and William Brodsky, Chairman of the Board, CBOE Holdings, received the first-ever “Outstanding Contribution” award.
