CBOE Launches Multi-Language Micro Websites

Date 15/07/2002

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today debuted two new micro websites in Chinese and Spanish. International investors can access these multi-language micro websites through links on the CBOE home page at www.cboe.com.

Three sections of cboe.com are now available in multiple languages. In the "Products" section, an overview of CBOE index products, stock options, and exchange traded funds is explained. In the "Learning Center" section, users can study the fundamentals of investing with options, as well as refer to a comprehensive glossary of options definitions and terminology. In the "Strategy" section, the various methodologies for how to use options are covered. Additionally, the section includes "options FAQs" and a direct link to The Options Institute, the educational arm of CBOE. These sections provide investors with the basic options concepts, fundamentals and strategies that are essential for educated options investing.

"Our website, which provides a wealth of options information in a user-friendly format, is continually recognized as the premier options portal in the financial industry," said Edward L. Provost, Executive Vice President, Business Development, CBOE. "This latest innovation to cboe.com will enhance our educational efforts for the growing number of international investors who are incorporating options into their investment portfolios."

Each month, more than one million unique users rely on cboe.com as their source for comprehensive options information, statistics and educational tools. CBOE's award-winning website was recently recognized by TheStreet.com as one of the best websites in the financial industry and has received "Best of the Web" designation from Forbes.com in 2001 and 2002. CBOE is the first U.S. exchange to offer multiple languages on its website.

CBOE, the world's largest options marketplace and creator of listed options, is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). For additional information about the CBOE and its products, access the CBOE site on the World Wide Web at http://www.cboe.com
