The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that Kevin Murphy, Managing Director and head of U.S. Broker Dealer Sales for Citigroup Global Markets Inc. ("Citi") was elected to its board of directors. Mr. Murphy will serve as an Off-Floor (industry) Director.

Kevin has played an active role in shaping the options industry over the past 25 years. His firsthand knowledge of the many different facets of our business and his experienced perspective will further enhance our strong team of directors," said CBOE Chairman and CEO William J. Brodsky.
Mr. Murphy is currently a Managing Director at Citi and is head of U.S. Broker Dealer Sales. Mr. Murphy began his career in 1982 at Shearson/American Express as a listed options trader. In 1991 he was named head of the listed option department at Shearson Lehman Brothers, responsible for the sales and trading of listed options and overseeing all of the firm's listed options exchange floor operations. He later formed the U.S. Equity Structured Products sales team at Salomon Smith Barney.
A former chairman of the SIFMA Options Committee, Mr. Murphy has been a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences.He has also served on a number of the marketing and allocation committees of U.S options exchanges.
