CBOE Daily Volume Sets New Record

Trading volume at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) set a new record yesterday amidst heavy trading in options on the Nasdaq 100 Index (DJX) and Dow Jones Industrial Average Index (DJX). An estimated 2,363,737 option contracts traded today, topping the previous record of 2,336,415 option contracts, which was set on Friday, March 16, 2000. Other volume leaders included options on the S&P 500 Index (SPX), as well as options on America Online (AOL), CISCO Systems (CSCO) and Microsoft (MSFT).
