The Chicago Board Options Exchange® (CBOE®) has been named “U.S. Options Exchange of the Year” for the third consecutive year at an awards ceremony during Futures and Options World magazine’s Derivatives World London Conference.
”CBOE is the biggest options exchange in the U.S., but it is not resting on its laurels. It continues to innovate and set the pace for its rivals and is a worthy three-time winner of this award,” said FOW Publisher Will Mitting.
According to FOW, “Chicago Board Options Exchange is recognised as the U.S. Options Exchange of the Year for the third consecutive year following a surge in volumes and the introduction of a series of innovative products. Its VIX options and futures franchise is among the fastest-growing product suite in the exchange space, while volumes in S&P 500 Index (SPX) Weeklys continued to grow dramatically in the last year, now constituting more than 30 percent of total SPX options volume. During the judging period, CBOE began disseminating values for its new volatility products including U.S. Treasuries and the Short-Term VIX Volatility Indexes. It has also invested in options education with the construction of an expanded CBOE Options Institute. Judges praised the firm’s ‘continued innovation’ and growing market share.”
In addition to being named U.S. Options Exchange of the Year, over the past few years FOW has also awarded CBOE top honors for “Most Innovative New Contract, Index and Equities” and “Best Technology Innovation by an Exchange, The Americas.” Over the last decade, CBOE and its executives have received over two dozen industry awards for leadership and product innovation.
