Mr. Patrick, with Merrill Lynch since 1993, was recently appointed head of America's equity-linked trading, which includes equity derivatives, convertibles, and securitized products. He is responsible for all Merrill Lynch business that relates to U.S. options markets. Mr. Patrick replaces David J. Lund, also of Merrill Lynch.

"We are very pleased that Craig and Tom have agreed to take on this responsibility and join our Board," said William J. Brodsky, CBOE chairman and chief executive officer. "In an increasingly complex business environment, they are able to provide valuable perspective and experience. I am confident that their expertise will greatly benefit CBOE."
