The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that for a second time this week, a single-day volume record for trading options on iSharesSM S&P 100® Index Fund (ticker symbol OEF) was established. On Thursday, June 14 a total of 46,518 contracts (46,514 calls and 4 puts) traded, topping the previous record of 26,275 contracts, which was set on Monday June 11, 2001. Total open interest in OEF options stood at 40,019 contracts at the close of trading yesterday.
The underlying security for OEF options is the iShares S&P 100 Index Fund (ticker symbol OEF) traded at the CBOE.
