CBOE Announces Four Officer Promotions

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE)announced four officer promotions, effective immediately. William Ksander, James Neceda, Gautam Roy, and Patrick Sexton have been promoted.

CBOE promoted William G. Ksander to Vice President, Statistical Analysis; James Neceda to Vice President, Applications; Gautam Roy to Vice President, Software; and Patrick Sexton to Assistant General Counsel.

William Ksander is currently responsible for providing quantitative business analysis and for overseeing the development of software tools to monitor CBOE's business performance. He joined CBOE in 1983 as a Project Analyst for Floor Systems and over the years has been instrumental in the development of trading systems, particularly Electronic Book (EBook) and the Rapid Opening System (ROS). Prior to his recent promotion, Ksander was Director of Statistical Analysis in the department of Member Trading Services.

James Neceda is responsible for managing the design, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of Transaction Processing Facility (TPF) trading floor programming applications. He joined CBOE in 1981 as a programmer and has held a number of key programming and engineering positions before being promoted to the position of Director of Systems Development in December 1997.

Gautam Roy is responsible for all software systems analysis and programming activities: database management, distributed operating system, network administration, network security and end user computing. He started at CBOE in 1996 as Manager of Distributed Operating Systems Software and was promoted to Director of Systems Software in May 1998. Prior to joining CBOE, he was a network manager at Motorola and a systems engineer for Allied Signal. Roy, who holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, will complete his M.B.A. at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management in June 2001.

Patrick Sexton manages all CBOE antitrust compliance initiatives, manages certain litigation matters, and is involved in enforcement and other special projects. He joined CBOE in 1997 as a staff attorney, and has advanced through steadily increasing levels of responsibility, most recently as Director of Corporate Affairs. Previous to his arrival at CBOE, Sexton spent four years as a litigation attorney for Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, and prior to that clerked for Illinois Supreme Court Justice William G. Clark.
