Carbures And Gowex, Listed On MAB, Winners Of The “European Small And Mid-Cap Awards” - Carbures Chosen As The Most International- Minded Newcomer And Gowex As The Best New Listed Company

Carbures and Gowex, two companies listed on MAB, have won the European Small and Mid -Cap Awards, held today in the Brussels Albert Hall. Carbures was the winner in the Most international-minded newcomer category and Gowex in the Best new listed company category.

In the Most international- minded newcomer category the geographic diversity of the company beyond the single market, the presence of foreign investors in the EU, market share, sales, employment and long-term benefits attributable to exports, the share’s long-term performance and the company’s general reputation among investors, analysts and other companies are considered.

In the Best new listed company such factors as the company’s market share, sales, employment, profit growth in the long term, the share’s long-term performance  and its reputation among investors, analysts, and other companies are taken into account.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of MAB, Antonio Giralt, accompanied the CEO of Carbures’s Group, Rafael Contreras, and the President of Gowex, Jenaro García, to receive their awards. Antonio Giralt, stated: "It is an honour for us, at BME, to have two companies listed on MAB as thewinnersof these awardsBothCarbures and Gowex demonstrate the decisive contribution of MAB towards helping small and medium enterprises boost their growth in Spain and abroad”. 

The European Commission has hosted in 2013 the first edition of the European Smalland Mid-Cap Awards. Through this initiative it aims to recognise, provide visibility and encourage the success of the most enterprising companies in Europe that have obtained funding for their expansion through the European stock markets. This business profile is essential for the recovery of the European economy. 

In this first edition ten European stock exchanges have presented 31 companies, of which 16 were shortlisted, among them the two Spanish.
