Canadian Exchange Traded Fund Trades In Mexico - Mexican Market Helps Inter-List Barclays Canada’s ETF Based On S&P/TSX 60 Index

Date 28/04/2006

Mexican investors can now get a piece of Canadian market thanks to the inter-listing of the Barclays Canada’s iShares CDN S&P®/TSX60 Index Fund, which began trading on the Global Market BMV in Mexico on April 18, 2006.

Mexican stock exchange officials consulted with TSX Datalinx and Standard & Poor’s and obtained a license for the S&P/TSX 60 Index in order to create this ETF.

According to Mexican Exchange officials, pension funds in the country were interested in Canadian market exposure and have diversified their portfolios in foreign equity and other international securities.

TSX Group and Mexican Exchange officials meet and speak frequently about exchange-related initiatives that are beneficial to both markets.
