Aldama will report to Gloria Moore Andrews, CalPERS Deputy Executive Officer, Operations.

"I'm extremely confident in Richard and his skills to lead our diversity outreach programs," said Moore Andrews. "As the nation's largest public pension fund and an organization with global impact, we recognize diversity as a vital business issue and are excited about Richard's appointment."

Most recently, he was the Assistant Division Chief of CalPERS Operations Support Services Division, where he was responsible for the Contracts Management, Procurement, and Outreach programs. Prior to coming to CalPERS, Aldama served as Chief, in both the Procurement and Business Services Unit and the Personnel Management and Affirmative Action Unit at the Department of Toxic Substances Control.

Aldama earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Science from California State University, Sacramento.
