Robert F. Carlson was re-elected committee chair. Carlson has been an elected Board member since 1971 and served as Board President from 1976 to 1985 and Vice President from 2000 to 2002. He is elected by and from retired CalPERS members. Carlson retired as Chief Counsel of the California Department of Transportation in 1985.
George Diehr was elected vice chair of the committee. Dr. Diehr is professor of management science in the College of Business Administration at California State University, San Marcos. He was elected to the CalPERS Board in 2002 as a representative of State employees including California State University employees.
Other Finance Committee members are: Philip Angelides, Willie Brown Jr., Priya Mathur, Charles Valdes, and Steve Westly.
