The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) Board of Administration has elected the following chairs and vice chairs for key Board committees:

Investment Committee – George Diehr, Chair; Henry Jones, Vice Chair
Dr. Diehr was elected to the Board in 2002 by State employees, including employees of the California State University system. He was re-elected for a third four-year term in 2010. Dr. Diehr has been on the faculty of the College of Business Administration at California State University, San Marcos since 1990. Mr. Jones retired from the Los Angeles Unified School District in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer overseeing the $7 billion dollar annual budget. He also headed the Annuity Reserve Fund Board overseeing the pension fund for 7,000 school teachers and administrators. Other Investment Committee members are John Chiang, Richard Costigan, Dan Dunmoyer, Rob Feckner, JJ Jelincic, Bill Lockyer, Priya Mathur, Louis F. Moret, Tony Oliveira and Ronald Yank.

Benefits and Program Administration Committee – George Diehr, Chair; Rob Feckner, Vice Chair
Dr. Diehr also serves as Vice President of the Board. Mr. Feckner is serving his seventh term as the CalPERS Board President. He is elected by classified school employees and has been a Board member since 1999. Other BPAC members include John Chiang, Richard Costigan, Henry Jones, Priya Mathur, Louis F. Moret, Tony Oliveira and Ronald Yank.

Health Benefits Committee – Priya Mathur, Chair; JJ Jelincic, Vice Chair
Ms. Mathur was elected to the Board in 2003 by public agency members and is a principal financial analyst for the Bay Area Rapid Transit District. Mr. Jelincic is a veteran employee of CalPERS with a wide range of investment experience. He is a past president of the California State Employees Association (CSEA), a labor group representing 140,000 active and retired State employees. Other Health Benefits Committee members are John Chiang, George Diehr, Rob Feckner, Henry Jones, Bill Lockyer, Tony Oliveira and Ronald Yank.

Performance and Compensation Committee – Louis F. Moret, Chair; Dan Dunmoyer, Vice Chair
Dr. Moret was appointed to the CalPERS Board in 2008 by the California Assembly Speaker and State Senate Rules Committee. He also chairs the Board’s Investment Policy Subcommittee and is vice chair of the Board Finance Committee. Moret is an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy at Pepperdine University and is a former member of the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension Board. Mr. Dunmoyer was appointed to the CalPERS Board of Administration in April 2009 by Governor Schwarzenegger to serve as the Board’s insurance industry representative. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of State Legislative and Regulatory Affairs in the United States for the Farmers Insurance Groups of Companies and Zurich Financial Services. Other Performance and Compensation Committee members are Richard Costigan, George Diehr, Bill Lockyer, Tony Oliveira and Ronald Yank.

Finance Committee – Henry Jones, Chair; Louis F. Moret, Vice Chair
Mr. Jones was elected to the Board in December 2007 by retired members. He retired from the Los Angeles Unified School District in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer. Dr. Moret was appointed to a four-year term to the Board of Administration in 2008 by the Assembly Speaker and the State Senate Rules Committee and the Assembly. He is also a former board member of the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension Board. Other Finance Committee members include John Chiang, JJ Jelincic, Bill Lockyer, Priya Mathur, and Tony Oliveira.
Last month, the full Board re-elected Rob Feckner as President, and George Diehr as Vice President.
The Policy Subcommittee of the Investment Committee will elect its Chair and Vice Chair at the April 2011 meeting. Louis F. Moret is currently serving as Chair and JJ Jelincic is Vice Chair. Other members of the committee include Richard Costigan, George Diehr, and Priya Mathur.
