Total number of trading days in August 2007 amounted to 22 days with total value traded of US$4,750 million (LE 27,075 million). Value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 4,584 million (LE 26,127 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 88.67%, 11.33% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 166 million (LE 949 million), which represents 4% of total value traded for the month.
This is in comparison to July 2007, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 4,175 million (LE 23,795million), of which shares represented 92.36%, bonds 7.64% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to US$ 353 million (LE 2,011 million) i.e. 8% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading) which reached US$ 4,528 million (LE 25, 806 million).
Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 1,129 million securities.
During August 2007, 898,605 transactions were concluded with an average of 40,846 trades per day, as opposed to 664,790 transactions and an average of 31,657 trades per day in July 2007.
Indices
CASE 30 price index, the official market index, witnessed a 6.01% decline in August 2007 to reach 7748.97 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 24.33%.
Likewise, the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed a 5.99% decline in August, to close at 1644 points 30/8/2007, and a 17.92% increase on a YoY basis.

During the month of August, the top five gainers, on the official CASE market, were (in descending order of price change) Egyptian Electrical Cables (+316.05%), International Co For Investment & Development (+191.78%), Egyptian Real Estate (+164.67%), Egyptian Sponge (+154.19%) and Gharbia Islamic Housing Development (+140.83%).
The top five losers were (in ascending order of price change) Arab Banking Corporation - Egypt (Less Rights) (-18.50%), Egyptian Real Estate Group (-17.64%), Acrow Misr (-16.89%), El Nasr Transformers (El Maco) (-16.55%) and Souhag National Food Industries (-15.74%).
Market Capitalization

The bond capitalization recorded US$ 695 million (LE 4 billion) for corporate bonds and US$ 10 billion (LE 58 billion) for government bonds at the end of August 2007 (Including Treasury Bonds according to Primary Dealers System).
Foreign Participation
