Cairo And Alexandria Stock Exchanges: CASE 30 Reached It's Highest Level

CASE 30 Index reached its highest level on Sunday September 12, 2004 scoring 2017.34 points with 55.11 point increase compared to Thursday September 9,2004, an increase of 2.81%. From the beginning of this year, the index recorded an increase of 861.83 point, a 74.58% increase. The Index opened on Sunday January 4,2004 with 1155.51 points. This upward movement in the CASE 30 Index is a consequence of the investors positive reaction to the new economic decisions which will positively impact expected on the market generally. In addition, the foreigners participation in the stock market increased reasons.

It is worth stating that the market capital exceeded 200 billion Egyptian pounds for the first time in CASE history where it reached LE 200,189,645,479 with an increase of LE 28,267,263,491 comparing to the opening of Sunday January 4, 2004 with an increase of 16.44%, despite the decrease in the number of listed companies in CASE schedules from 978 company in January 1, 2004 to 791 company in September 12,2004.
