BVLP Becomes Euronext Lisbon

Bolsa de Valores de Lisboa e Porto - announce the creation of Euronext Lisbon, after their exchange offer was declared unconditional, and the closing of the merger today.

This announcement follows:

• The announcement on 28 January 2002 that Euronext has received 100% acceptance of the offer by the shareholders of BVLP.
• The necessary approval yesterday, by the Portuguese Minister of Finance, of the acquisition of BVLP by Euronext, which was the last condition needed to be satisfied in order to declare the offer unconditional.

Therefore, the merger is effective as of today and BVLP is renamed Euronext Lisbon, in a similar way to Euronext Paris, Euronext Amsterdam and Euronext Brussels.
