Buzzi Unicem Will Replace SanPaolo-IMI In The S&P/MIB Index Share Change, IWF And Name Change For Banca Intesa In The S&P/MIB Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/MIB Index, effective at the open of business, Tuesday 2 January 2007:
  • Buzzi Unicem, (Italy, ISIN IT0001347308) will replace SanPaolo-IMI (Italy, ISIN IT0001269361) in the S&P/MIB Index, following the merger of the latter into Banca Intesa. Buzzi Unicem number of shares outstanding is 98,838,562; the Investable Weight Factor is 0.457 and it will be added to the S&P/MIB GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) “Construction Materials” sub-industry.
  • Banca Intesa (Italy, ISIN: IT0000072618, GICS: Financials), a member of the S&P/MIB Index, shares will increase to 11,849,117,744 as it is issuing new shares to shareholders of SanPaolo-IMI, following their merger by incorporation into Banca Intesa;
  • Banca Intesa IWF will change to 0.789 after the operation;
  • Banca Intesa will adopt Intesa San Paolo SpA as its new corporate name.

All the changes stated above are subject to SanPaolo-IMI’s successful delisting as announced by Borsa Italiana today. This will be confirmed on Friday 29 December 2006.
