Bursa Malaysia To Host Invest Malaysia London In Partnership With Maybank Kim Eng

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (‘Bursa Malaysia’ or ‘the Exchange’), in partnership with Maybank Kim Eng, will host Invest Malaysia London on the 1st and 2nd September 2014, showcasing a line-up of highly investable multinational companies listed on Bursa Malaysia.

More than 100 one-on-one meeting requests have been filled where United Kingdom-based fund managers will meet with CEOs of 13 of Malaysia’s leading companies to hear firsthand the sustainable growth stories of these companies, which have helped Malaysia become recognised as ASEAN’s multinational marketplace.

Fund managers at Invest Malaysia London 2014 will also gain an audience with Yang Berhormat Senator Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department who will present a Keynote Address with a view to provide fund managers insights to the progress and development of Malaysia’s economy as well as the strategic actions to ensure Malaysia achieves developed nation status by 2020.

47 UK-based fund managers from 39 organisations representing almost USD 11,836 billion in total assets under management will be present at Invest Malaysia London. In addition to the one-on-one meetings, fund managers will also hear from Bursa Malaysia on their roll-out plans on the introduction of the FTSE4GOOD Index series, as well as showcase the world leading expertise, innovations and deal-flow emanating from Malaysia’s Islamic finance marketplace.

Malaysia is one of the world’s most conducive places to do business, ranked 6th by the World Bank for ease of doing business  and 12th most competitive nation by the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) .  Ranked 4th in the world for Investor Protection according the World Bank, Bursa Malaysia emerged again as the top listing destination in ASEAN and over the last five years, Malaysians PLCs have charted an expansion of 184% growth in market capitalisation.
