Date 23/11/2018

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or “the Exchange”) added UOB Kay Hian Securities Sdn Bhd (“UOB Kay Hian Securities”) to its Islamic Participating Organisations (“Islamic POs”) list, making it the 15th stockbroking house offering Islamic stockbroking securities on Bursa Malaysia-i.

Bursa Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan said, “Bursa Malaysia is pleased to welcome UOB Kay Hian Securities to be part of Bursa Malaysia-i, alongside our 14 other Islamic POs. We look forward to increased participation and support from our brokers to provide a conducive marketplace for the Shariah investing community and continue to spur the growth and vibrancy of the Islamic capital market domestically and regionally.”

UOB Kay Hian Chief Executive Officer, Mr David Lim said, “The Shariah community is a big and new market, which we would like to provide our services and educate the Shariah investors on how to trade and invest.”

The Islamic stockbroking services play an important role in managing their clients' securities trading whereby the trade and post-trade activities are segregated from conventional securities.
