Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Recognised As Approved Foreign Derivatives Exchange By Taiwan Regulator

Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad (“BMD”) today announced that the Securities and Futures Bureau of Taiwan (“SFB”) in a circular dated 28 November 2014 announced the approval of BMD as an approved foreign derivatives exchange of Taiwan, with BMD's contracts namely the Crude Palm Oil Futures (“FCPO”) and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures (“FKLI”) approved for futures brokers’ offering to clients.

The CEO of Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Dato’ Tajuddin Atan said, “This recognition augurs weIl with our efforts in promoting liquidity for the Malaysian derivatives market. We can now reach out to a new segment of clients from Taiwan who can now include FCPO and FKLI as part of their trading portfolio. This will also be an opportunity for our Trading Participants (“TPs”) to regionalise their revenue base.”
