Bursa Malaysia Delivers Resilient First-Half Performance, Leads ASEAN IPO Ranking And Raises 2026 Market Capitalisation Target

Date 30/07/2026

Bursa Malaysia Berhad delivered a resilient performance for the first half ended 30 June 2026 (“1H2026”), underpinned by strong market activity, healthy fundraising momentum and continued execution of the Exchange’s strategic priorities. Reflecting the strong performance of the IPO market and a robust listing pipeline, Bursa Malaysia has revised upwards one of its 2026 headline KPIs, increasing its IPO market capitalisation target from RM28 billion to RM34 billion.

For 1H2026, Bursa Malaysia recorded a Profit After Tax, Zakat and Minority Interest (“PATAMI”) of RM144.6 million, an increase of 15.2% year-on-year (“YoY”). Operating revenue rose 19.6% YoY to RM411.7 million, driven primarily by higher securities trading activity. Operating expenses increased 21.0% to RM229.0 million, primarily due to higher staff costs and regulatory fees. During the period, Bursa Malaysia also continued to strengthen its talent capabilities and advance strategic market infrastructure initiatives, including the ongoing upgrade of its trading platform to Bursa Trade Securities 3 (“BTS3”).
