Speaking at the launch of the inaugural programme, Chief Executive Officer Yusli Mohamed Yusoff said that the objective of the programme is to keep local and international investors informed of latest developments, reforms and initiatives in the Malaysian capital market.
"For the Malaysian market and Bursa Malaysia, we aim to continue expanding ways of working with the media for timely and balanced coverage nationally and internationally. An area that can certainly improve is greater and more consistent comprehensive coverage from local and international media.
"In driving the exchange forward, it is also our aim to increase and enhance the profile of not just the exchange and capital market, but Malaysia, as a whole. We need to enhance our presence internationally; we need to promote our brands, products and services and our most effective partner in this effort is the media," Yusli said
Malaysia Market Update will be aired every Thursday, from 5.10pm to 5.20pm (local time) across CNBC Asia Pacific, covering China, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. In Malaysia, the programme is accessible on ASTRO's channel 91, for a period of 6 months.
Malaysia Market update will feature weekly updates from influential industry and market participants on the Malaysian capital market and securities industry. The live interviews will be broadcasted live from Bursa Malaysia's Media Centre at the Exchange Square.
