Bursa Malaysia Berhad’s (Bursa Malaysia) derivatives trading system – Bursa Trade Derivatives –
today encountered a glitch from 3:30 pm to 3:54 pm. During this period, market participants
were not able to send orders and no matching of trades was done by the system.
“As with any new system, it takes some time for the application to stabilise. To date,
we have in fact successfully resolved earlier bugs without impacting our derivatives trading at
large,” said Yew Kim Keong, Chief Information Officer of Bursa Malaysia Berhad.
“Today’s issue was identified by our team and immediately resolved without a need to suspend
trading. All the same, we remain vigilant in monitoring the system and are working closely
with the developer of Bursa Trade Derivatives, Atos Euronext Market Solution (AEMS), to actively
resolve any issues we may encounter moving forward,” he continued.
Bursa Trade Derivatives was launched in 20 November 2006.
