Bursa Malaysia Berhad: Update In KLCI Component Stocks

Date 20/02/2006

The Executive Committee (EXCO) of Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa) in its review of the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) has decided to release three companies as component stocks of the KLCI effective Monday, 20 March 2006:

  COMPANY SECTOR
1 Ramatex Bhd Industrial Products
2 Country Heights Holdings Bhd Properties
3 Malayan United Industries Bhd Trading/Services

Ramatex Bhd did not meet the KLCI’s volume criteria as it fell into the fourth quartile of annual volume for the year ended 31 December 2005.

Although the other two component stocks fulfill the KLCI criteria on volume and market capitalisation, the EXCO decided that they be replaced by other stocks to widen the spectrum of industries represented by KLCI companies.

In place of the component stocks released, the three companies to be included as component stocks of the KLCI effective Monday, 20 March 2006 are:

  COMPANY SECTOR
1 OYL Industries Bhd Consumer Products
2 Top Glove Corporation Bhd Industrial Products
3 AEON Co. (M) Bhd Trading/Services
