Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) today announced the appointment of Datin Mariam Prudence binti Yusof as its Nominee Director to the Board of Directors of its subsidiary, Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad (“BMD”), and its clearing house, Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Clearing Berhad (“BMDC”). Her appointment will take effect on 1 July 2017.
Datin Mariam Yusof has over 30 years of experience in the securities industry and has served as an Executive Director of Equity Market of MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd from 2006 to 2007. She was also the Executive Director of Dealing at MIDF Sisma Securities Sdn Bhd from 1997 to 2006. She is currently the Chairman of SISMA Group of Companies and a Director of C.I. Holdings Berhad.
As of 1 July 2017, the Board of Directors of BMD and BMDC consist of three Nominee Directors of Bursa Malaysia, one Nominee Director of Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group Inc. (“CME Group Inc.”), which owns 25% shareholding in BMD, and one Independent Director. They are:
