Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or “The Exchange”) today announced that it has approved six new Approved Advisers to be included in the Register of Advisers for the Leading Entrepreneur Accelerator Platform (“LEAP”) Market.
The new Approved Advisers are as follows:-
- Crowe Horwath Advisory Sdn Bhd
- DWA Advisory Sdn Bhd
- MainStreet Advisers Sdn Bhd
- Strategic Capital Advisory Sdn Bhd
- WYNCorp Advisory Sdn Bhd
- ZJ Advisory Sdn Bhd
These new Advisers are in addition to the existing 14 Principal Advisers and Sponsors of the Main Market and ACE Market who themselves were automatically admitted to the Register of Advisers of the LEAP Market on 16 June 2017.
The Exchange invited all suitably qualified corporate financial advisers licensed by the Securities Commission to apply to the Exchange to act as an Approved Adviser or Continuing Adviser on the Leap Market.
An Approved Adviser’s responsibility is to assess the suitability of an applicant seeking listing on the LEAP Market by undertaking due diligence and making reasonable enquiries on the potential applicants. They are also responsible for the preparation of the listing documents and to guide the company to comply with post-listing requirements.
“The goal of the LEAP Market is to provide a platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (“SMEs”) to raise funds from the equity market by listing on Bursa Malaysia. The Advisers will play a critical role in working with interested SMEs to determine their suitability for listing on the LEAP Market and thereafter to guide them on their post-listing obligations,” said Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan, Bursa Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer.
The expansion of advisers to beyond that of existing Investment Banks and brokers is part of the new market structure of the LEAP Market which aims to expand the reach of services available to SMEs seeking to list on the new LEAP Market.
