In August:
- The average daily turnover was EUR 179.9 (124.0) million, an increase of 45.1 percent. The total turnover was EUR 4,137.8 (2,603.6) million and increase of 58.9 percent.
- The average number of trades per day was 29,286 (17,058), an increase of 71.7 percent. The total number of trades was 673,573 (358,218) an increase of 88.0 percent.
- The trading participant with the highest turnover was SEB with a turnover of EUR 1,451.1 (577.4) million.
- The most traded instrument was Volvo B, with a turnover of EUR 398.6 (293.2) million, an increase of 35.9 percent.
Olof Neiglick, CEO of Burgundy comments about the month:
“Burgundy’s average daily turnover for the Nordic countries was EUR 179.9 (124.0) million on an increasing market. Burgundy made a new record with the best monthly turnover so far – a turnover of EUR 4,137.8 million (previous record was in May 2011; EUR 4,081.8 million). We also had an all time high record in total number of trades per month - the number of trades was 673,573 (previous record was in March 2011; 486,369 number of trades). On 10 August Burgundy made a new daily trading record with 46,658 numbers of trades in one single day (previous record was in March 2011; 39,200 number of trades).
The total market turnover for all marketplaces trading Swedish equities increased by 50 percent in August, compared with July. The total market turnover for all marketplaces trading Nordic equities increased by 51 percent in August, compared with July. The trading on Burgundy in both Swedish andNordic equities also increased significantly in August.*”
