Bulgarian Stock Exchange Becomes A Corresponding Member Of Federation Of European Securities Exchanges

Date 04/11/2003

The Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) in Sofia has been admitted by the Federation of European Securities Exchanges as a Corresponding Member. The General Assembly of the Federation has today unanimously approved the application by the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.

Mr. Georgi Draichev, CEO of the BSE said: "We feel very honoured by the unanimous decision of the General Assembly of FESE to approve the application of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange for Corresponding Membership in this prestigious organisation. Our management, all our staff have worked very hard in the last years to set up a modern and efficient stock market, which satisfies the requirements both of the issuers and the investors. With Bulgaria's accession to the EU set for 2007, we consider it as our main goal to even more fully apply European standards to our activities. Becoming a Corresponding Member of FESE undoubtedly gives us the possibility to access valuable information and receive advice from the more developed partner Exchanges in Europe."

"We look forward to a fruitful co-operation with FESE", the CEO added.
