The Mercado a Término de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Futures Exchange) traded 18,898 contracts in November 2000 compared to a figure of 16,644 contracts in November 1999. Total volume for the first eleven months of 2000 was 221,831 contracts, compared to 209,193 contracts in 1999.

In November 2000 12,022 futures contracts were traded, compared to 10,692 in 1999. There were 6,876 option contracts traded in 2000, compared to 5,952 in 1999.

Open interest on the last trading day of November 2000 was 36,014. Open interest for futures was 17,173 contracts and for options, 18,841.
