Buenos Aires Futures Exchange Monthly Report For July 2000.

The Mercado a Término de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Futures Exchange) traded 17,042 contracts in July 2000 compared to a figure of 21,148 contracts in July 1999. Total volume for the first seven months of 2000 was 148,692 contracts, compared to 137,083 contracts in 1999.

In July 2000 13,529 futures contracts were traded, compared to 15,842 in 1999. There were 3,513 option contracts traded in 2000, compared to 5,306 in 1999.

Open interest on the last trading day of July 2000 was 25,825. Open interest for futures was 16,057 contracts and for options, 9,768.
