Bucharest Stock Exchange CEO Discussed The AeRO Market During EBAN 2015 Angels Summit In Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Date 07/05/2015

On May 7, 2015, BVB CEO Ludwik Sobolewski participated at 2015 Angel Summit organized by the European Business Angels Network (EBAN), in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Ludwik Sobolewski participated in a panel dedicated to the stock exchanges, together with the representatives from the Budapest Stock Exchange, Euronext, Istanbul Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange. In his address, he has discussed AeRO – BVB’s new market segment for SMEs and start-ups and the opportunities it presents both to investors as well as entrepreneurs.

“In Romania it was difficult to have a market for SMEs because generally companies, even the large ones, were not accustomed to benefit from the capital market, to raise money in this way. However AeRO, which we have launched two months ago, works. Investors and business angels do understand that it is a good opportunity to look at the companies listed on such markets because they are offered elementary liquidity and exit strategy. I know from my experiences from both Polish and Romanian markets that the listed companies were able to get funding because the investors felt safer knowing that the company is listed, that they have an exit and additionally that investors can count on the success story of the company. If a stock exchange has such a platform, it opens an opportunity for the companies to be upgraded, to go up, to be listed on the main floors, which also creates hopes for the investors, that the valuation will be good.” said Ludwik Sobolewski, BVB CEO, during his speech.

EBAN 2015 Business Summit centered on the theme of creating, financing and building global success stories made in the EMEA region. Business angels, VC funds, business accelerators etc. were present at the summit in order to interact with entrepreneurs from all over Europe and the world. The 2015 edition of the EBAN Business Summit was supported by the European Commission.
